Alternative Sentencing Program Case Coordinator

Inland SoCal United Way’s Community Impact Department develops, implements, and manages programs meeting ISCUW’s community impact goals in the areas of education, health and financial stability as well as increasing the capacity of local nonprofits through volunteerism and grants. This work is accomplished through United Way-managed programs provided in partnership with local companies, local government, schools, community organizations and volunteers. Programs include student support programs such as School Tools, Kids Pack, Launch Point, GEMS, and ieReads; alternative sentencing and juvenile justice programs, as well as financial stability programs such as financial literacy, food delivery, assistance for rent, utilities, and transportation.
This ASP Case Coordinator will coordinate daily program operations and provide general support to facilitate ISCUW-managed programs. This full-time, regular, non-exempt position reports to the Alternative Sentencing Program Supervisor.
Essential Functions 85%
- Manage Alternative Sentencing Program client cases, including client application, collection of fees, service placement, monitoring, and case reporting; communicate with clients via phone and/or email
- Work with court-ordered and probation clients, including those in the juvenile justice system; understand and apply any county, state or federal guidelines
- Conduct courses on topics such as domestic violence, anger management, and parenting
- Coordinate the daily operations of ISCUW programs; understand and meet program expectations, deadlines and deliverables
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with program partners through regular and ongoing communication; compose announcements, updates and other program information
- Enter and manage program data
- Communicate with and assist program clients in a professional, compassionate, and timely manner
- Develop and maintain program protocols; create program forms, checklists, and other documents
- Collect and maintain program statistics and other information for monthly and annual reporting
- Collect client data for program evaluation
- Provide programmatic updates, as needed
- Help ensure a clean and safe environment in the program centers
- Successfully maintain performance parameters and improve skills through various means
- Work closely with the External Affairs Department to develop and maintain positive relationships donors, volunteers, or other members of the community

- Help research and collect data for programs
- General clerical duties may include copying, message handling, reports, filing, and data input
- Other duties as assigned
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills; must be able to compose letters, emails and content for program materials
- Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Office and Windows
- Must be able to pass required Riverside County Probation background screening
- Must be able to pass required certifications
- Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task; strong organizational/planning skills and attention to detail are critical
- Excellent people skills; capable of working with diverse groups, including staff team, board members, product donors, volunteers and external stakeholders and clients
- With advance notice, must be available and able to work outside traditional office hours, including some evenings and weekends
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid California driver’s license, proof of minimum required California vehicle liability insurance and a good driving record
- Ability to create and manage spreadsheets and databases, complete mail merges, and conduct mailings

This multi-faceted position involves sorting, packing, stocking, loading and unloading of program supplies; participating in community fairs, and other off-site activities, including set-up and tear-down; driving for various assignments; general maintenance of program facilities, including creating displays, hanging signage and light cleaning; managing volunteer projects, including set-up and clean-up; and a variety of other physical tasks. These activities involve the ability to twist, pull, push, lift, (up to 10 lbs.), bend, squat, climb, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods; use of pallet jack (with proper training); manual dexterity for operating small tools & equipment; and visual acuity for driving and computer use.
