We support efforts in job creation, leadership infrastructure, and regional advocacy for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The diverse membership of IEEP is dedicated to creating economic opportunities that promote a better quality of life for our region of over 4.6 million people. Our membership is subdivided into several different industry-specific councils that convene on a regular basis to discuss their most pressing issues. This model was created to bring industry partners, competitors, and local government together to work toward a more prosperous future for everyone. This position is full-time.

Position Overview
The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and engaging new members to the strategic initiatives of IEEP. The Coordinator will develop the right mix of strategies to build a pipeline that grows membership at IEEP. The ideal candidate will have a consultative, solution-oriented philosophy for sales with strong professional and relationship building and maintenance skills. This position reports directly to the CEO, and as such, ideal candidates must be comfortable working fairly autonomously within the IEEP framework, while collaborating regularly with other staff members on a variety of initiatives, events, programs and efforts.

  • Serve as the business development liaison to all membership (business groups, cities, organizations) and helping to establish and carry out viable engagement plans
  • Develop customized pitches, presentations, responses to potential members, and other marketing collateral for new business opportunities and member meetings
  • Work with the private and public sectors to determine effective, detailed approaches to pursuing new members while driving the follow-up and implementation
  • Develop and pursue leads for new members in various industries and regions
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual membership (501c6) finance reports, analyzes trends for future economic and business development, and provides recommendations and updates as requested
  • Lead organizer, coordinator and sponsorship recruiter for IEEP signature events including 1)Annual Dinner and Awards Reception, 2) State of the Region, 3) Southern California Ecommerce and Logistics Summit, 4) IE Latino Economic and Policy Summit, 5) Red Tape to Red Carpet.
  • Coordinate external event communications and marketing with IEEP marketing coordinator
  • Understand strategic business and foundation initiatives and help communicate and implement them across the organization
  • Assist with the organization of Board of Director, Southern California Logistics Council and Inland Empire Economic Center agenda creation and action item management
  • Work across teams to facilitate various special projects, including annual Regional Leadership Academy
  • Collaborate with the IEEP Office Coordinator assistant to ensure efficient scheduling and preparation for upcoming meetings or events
  • Manage other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Business or Membership Development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $53.00 per hour
