About Organization

Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board (IFHMB) is a private non-profit 501c[3] agency that provides free services to low and moderate income individuals. IFHMB provides services through the following programs: fair housing, landlord/tenant, housing counseling, and mediation services. Our main office is located in Ontario, California.

Job Details

IFHMB is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will be responsible for all financial activities including accounting, finance, budgeting, strategic planning, banking relationships, and expenditures. The CFO reports directly to the C.E.O. and is responsible for all aspects of IFHMB’s fiscal policies and planning.

Some Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead IFHMB business planning and development of a comprehensive budget, develop financial forecasts, and budget and revenue projections;
  • Oversees and ensures that financial books and reports are properly developed and maintained for IFHMB in compliance with government agency rules, all grant and regulatory requirements, and contracts;
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory laws, and rules for financial and tax reporting;
  • Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders;
  • The CFO is responsible for financial management, including monitoring of IFHMB’s revenue and for making recommendations to the IFHMB board;
  • Review financial information contained in grant applications, grantee program audits, for compliance and planning.
  • Review all grants, contracts, and sub-grantee budgets;
  • Produce monthly financial reports in collaboration with accountant;
  • Direct and supervise the work of the accountant;
  • Prepare and coordinate internally for audits;
  • Maximize income by effective cash management and investigate alternate revenues;
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or CPA preferred·
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer skills ·
  • Ability to multitask and remain flexible ·
  • Outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to detail ·
  • Prior experience in public or non-profit fiscal administration preferred ·
  • Excellent supervision skills and ability to work in a team ·
  • Familiarity with electronic financial accounting and management tools ·
  • Record as results-oriented effective collaborator and communicator·
  • Some travel required
