Information

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is accepting pre-applications to the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program. Funding is available for anadromous salmonid restoration projects.

The objective of the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP) is to restore anadromous salmonid habitat with the goal of ensuring the survival and protection of the species in coastal areas of California.
Project Types
Priority 1 Project Types
Projects that restore, enhance, or protect anadromous salmonid habitat in anadromous watersheds through implementation or design projects that lead to implementation.
Priority 2 Project Types
Projects that consist of watershed-scale or larger effectiveness monitoring (e.g., intensively monitored watershed project). Such projects provide monitoring of habitat restoration actions at the watershed or larger scales and the physical, biological and chemical response, and projects conducting watershed-scale or larger restoration planning (e.g., strategic action plans).
Priority 3 Project Types
Projects that support implementation projects through planning, outreach, and/or education
Information Session
A concept proposal workshop will be held on February 6 at 11:00 am

Eligibility

Entities eligible to apply for grants under this PSN are limited to public agencies, Native American Indian Tribes, and nonprofit organizations. Grant proposals from private individuals or for-profit enterprises will not be accepted. Private individuals and for-profit enterprises interested in submitting restoration proposals are encouraged to work with a public agency, nonprofit organization, or Native American Indian Tribe.

No project that is a required mitigation or used for mitigation under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), California Endangered Species Act (CESA), Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Forest Practices Act (FPA) or Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) will be considered for funding. No project that is under an enforcement action by a regulatory agency will be considered for funding.
