Information

The California Department of Education is accepting applications to the Migrant Education program.

The purpose of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migratory students can meet the same challenging state academic standards that all children are expected to meet. Funding supports high quality comprehensive educational programs to help overcome educational disruption, cultural and language barriers, social isolation, varying health related needs and other factors that inhibit the ability of migratory children to succeed in schools.

Eligibility

Funding through the application process supports 20 program offices to provide supplementary education and support services to migrant children. Funds are determined using an approved California Department of Education funding formula.

Local educational agencies are eligible to apply.
